28th April 2010 ( Wednesday)
Elder YF came around lunch time with some organic sweet potatoes and Pastor KS came after 5 with blessings and prayers for our impending trip. My mother called to chat with him during dinner.Soon after Lim Shong and JOyce came and gave LG a big ang pow and I jokingly told them that the last trip they did not give and as such we had to make another trip to collect his ang pow. LG is feeling better today as there was no pain, though voice a little hoarse can still grumble at me loudly and press his point indignantly. Pray for guidance as we venture once again to Kunming as we are not sure what Dr Z will recommend and how much of it we can accomodate and adapt. There is some discussion of me taking no pay leave to stay with him in Kunming for a while. Love never fails.......
29th April 2010 ( Thursday)
Woke up at 2 30 am ( must be anxiety pangs) and rose at 4 am to get ready the wheat grass jucie as the juicer has multiple parts of washing to be done , put the laundry in the washing machine and steam the maize for breakfast as well as packed fruits for the journey as they would have perished by the time we return on Sunday. This could have been our second honeymoon after 25 years as we have never travelled anywhere together( just the both of us) after the first honeymoon. On arrival at Kunming we were taken for lunch at this place.
The pork dish is the best , of course.

While taking this shot, LG had a fall as his right leg could not support him very well. Dr Z examined him and informed us that his body is very much weakened, presumably from the oral chemo or the growing tumors and is of the opinion that LG should not have left the hill which we were unable to comply fo rmany many reasons. He had to send people 1000 km a way somewhere near Tibet to collect herbs and suggested we stay in Chu Xiong town asLG's constitution is not strong and was worried he might catch a chill. Very kindly they sent us down to town again.
We were put up in this Yi ren old town hotel for RMB 390 and there was only one room left. I tried to give all the credit cards for them to swipe and they all did not work. They want something from Bank of China so I would have to apply for a China credit card. Looks like have to carry a lot of cash whenever you are in small townsLG slipped again and so after a quick dinner we retired to bed as I think we were all tired. Unfortunately we hear the blare of the train's horn every 2 hours( as our room faced a railway track) and thus did not sleep well. LG discovered on the internet that one of the side effects of Dapsone( anti-bacteria) a drug that Dr L gave him since February is Jaundice and so he immediately stopped it. Although the room has internet connection, I could not login to blogspot.com
30th April 2010 ( Friday)
Decided to ask for a change of room and got one at RMB 320, slightly smaller but very quiet and faced a beautiful courtyard. If this had been a second honeymoon, I would be in a better frame of mind to enjoy the water feature. On the way we saw this hotel that got me very very excited. Strangely the traffic lights turned red and I was able to get a good shot of this hotel which somehow made me feel very very comforted.Shandy and my sisters should understand why.( look at the name of the hotel)

We went back to Jia Xiang Cai at the Yiren wenhua jie and walked around the place to check out on some hotels that were recommended on the internet. The heat of the afternoon sun was so oppressive that we went back for a good nap as we did not sleep well last night. After a good nap we went for a long walk and then dinner. No pain and so no morphine since seeing Dr L. But LG looked a little yellow on the face and eye white.

1st May 2010 ( Sunday)
Er jie came to our hotel and we set off for Kunming at 11 am and reached about 130 pm.Praise God for journey mercies and protection so far.
This is the best hotel in Older part of ChuXiong. Perhaps we may get a chance to stay here though I was told that accessibity to food and shopping is not within walking distance but all rides in Chu Xiong goes by a flat rate of 7 RMB but they may charge tourist 10 RMB.We were put up in a 3 star hotel called Jin Mao which was reasonable about 248 RMB but the bed was too hard for LG as he has lost much weight--- we only realised it after taking a nap. After a short nap( he has much discomfort around his stomach) we decided to explore the area around our hotel. Of course how can there be a Ladies Street in Kunming without my knowledge and so we stumbled upon it by chance.
2nd May 2010 ( sunday)
After a long night of discomfort, hard bed( I gave him my comforter to lie on), feet feeling cold ,going to the toilet to shit and pee many times, we were glad to be making our journey back to Spore. At the airport we were given a note to pass to Ben, a record of the cost incurred in March, slightly more than 10 000 RMB. I was not sure to pay him the balance owed but decided to go back to discuss with Ben. On the flight back and after a short nap, LG said that he was ok to attend my cousin's wedding at Mandarin Orchard. Touched down at 515 pm and Wilson came to fetch us at 6 pm. Arrived home at 6 25 pm, cooked a vegetarian meal, steamed sweet potato, unpacked and tidy up the house a little and we then we are off to the wedding. It was great to be among loved ones!
