"Being loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage." Lao Tzu

7th Dec 2009 ( Monday)
Fruits rich in potassium as promised! Dr Tan WM said that if everything is ok ----LG may be discharged tomorrow once Dr Lim gives the clearance( subject to optimal potassium level in his blood). Hallejuah! Thanks to all who has been following my blog and upholding Lim Gee in your prayers.( Elder Yoke Fooi sms-ed to say that he's one of my blog's regular reader--so happy to hear that)  He has to do 4 cycles of Potassium Phosphate today -which thankfully is not painful.

Prayed for Mr Tan the coughing patient in the next bed who has to have his phlegm extracted twice. He was so terrified that he would "duan qi"( meaning exhale his final breath )and oh my the noises that came from his throat is worse than the House of Horrors! Nearly wanted to record it down as an audio file for my readers but thought that it would be in bad taste.
Mrs Singam LC called to chat with him and she certainly has developed the art of having a sustained conversation with LG. I am thankful to all who have shown care and concern. We are indeed very blessed to have so many caring people around us. Hey the apple of LG's eye visited in the evening- a definite booster to his mood, too bad "the orange of his eye"is having exams otherwise we will be singing "This is the day the Lord had made."

8th Dec 2009 (Tuesday)

LG informed me over the phone that the potassium level is till low and they had to put in a few bags late last night or early morning ( till about 4 am)which would mean that he hardly slept. The children had made a montage for him last week. We all show love, care and concern in our own special ways. Some are loud, some are subtle. It is best to show it in a way the recipient can understand best. I strongly believe in the following:To be
(a) generous with what one can do
(b) generous with what one is
(c) generous with what one has.

In this respect, I would like to salute ALL the nurses in SGH Ward 48 Room 12, my unadulterated praise goes to all of you--" it is not how much you do but how much love you put in the doing, it is not how much you give but how much love you put in the giving"- Mother Theresa.(off quote). It was quite difficult to get the photo of these angels which is only a fraction of the whole team. They are incredibly busy.

Since hospital food is not exactly gourmet cuisine for me to shout out loud , my dear friend Maggie took me out for lunch at Raffles Hotel @Royal China. Naturally I felt a little guilty about leaving LG. But God is so good--- Aaron ( came with potassium-enriched bananas) and Yoke Fooi (came with spiritual motivation to boost the  potassium levels in his blood) visited him.His potassium level is now 3.1 ( optimal is 3.2). I am ready to embrace my role as a woman who can laugh at the days ahead!

(1) LG's renewed interest in reading the newspaper.
(2) LG enjoying bean curd that  melts in your mouth from Selegie Road bought by Maggie.

(3) The dessert of the day is from my danzbuddy --Ivy's home-baked olive oil carrot cake--bless the hands that can bake so well!
Our sister-in-law, Karen also dropped by. She has been hospital-visitng from dawn to dusk. Next stop is at Changi Hospital to visit her father.

9th Dec 2009 ( Wed)
With the dawn of each new day Lim Gee and I( I believe all the cancer patients in the wards) are like shipwrecked sailors ecstatically greeting the sight of inhabited island ( discharge from SGH).Failing which they will look forward to visits from loved ones especially those who had been busy and those who have a deep-seated phobia for hospitals!
Wilson who has been helping out in the YZ camp followed by 2  days of exam is feeling a little off colour and so sends his apologies for not visiting LG.Click on the link below to hear Wilson singing his encouragement to Dad..
It is in everyone's best interest not to visit ( especially those with weak constitution) as Mr Coughing Tan is still making disgusting sounds from his bed. Even I the super healthy one woke up this morning with a slight runny nose and decided to pump in as much vitamin C as I can before coming to SGH. Ironically his relatives complained that there are too many germs in the hospital, when it is Mr Coughing Tan who is the main contributor of germs in Room12. Thank goodness the patients are all getting the antibiotics!

Everything seems to be stabilising for LG ( they are still putting in replacement for potassium but at a slower rate as well as antibiotics)--- no more fever and lesser watery stools, and of course he is just as fastidious as before --- We are claiming on His promises that through His Stripes, LG will emerge triumphant!

Picture showing LG making a call to his Dad to assure him that all is well.
Another picture to show you why Apple is LG's favourite brand.
